The visit of the Baccarat factory was an unforgettable, unusual experience. People work at night, like robots. They each have their specific job in the realisation of the pieces. One man blows the crystal, passes it to the next, who gives it to the next, and the chain continues, always the same. But somehow, in this extremely well organised choregraphy, there is one moment where everything is not completely calculated. The crystal stamp being incastrated in the realisation. It's random, surprising, and the result cannot be defined. The only part of the realisation that allows haphazard freedom, this is what I chose to exploit while imagining my vase.
Simple in the design, it celebrates the beauty of the craftsmen's work, his precision and determination while manipulating the material. The randomness of the product is praised, encouraged.
